Convert JSON to TXT
JSON comes out as TXT in "field: value" lines, with no braces or quotes left to read around.
Convert JSON to TXT when an export has to be read by eye: pasted into a message, dropped into an email, shown to someone for whom curly braces are only noise.
What happens when you convert JSON to TXT
The syntax goes and the content stays. Every field takes a line and is written as a "name: value" pair, with no quotes, braces or trailing commas.
Plain top-level fields come out first, nested blocks after them. A block is separated by a blank line and labelled with the field that held it, and when the block is a list of objects, that label repeats before each element.
- Accented and non-Latin text stays in letters, with no escape codes to decipher.
- Boolean values are written as
trueandfalse, and numbers come through as they are. - The file opens in any text editor on any device.
If the data belongs in a spreadsheet, use the JSON to CSV converter. For printing or sending to a client, there is the JSON to PDF converter.

Frequently asked questions
Is the nesting preserved?
You can see it in the layout: nested blocks follow the plain fields, separated by a blank line and labelled with their field name. The indentation of the source file is not kept.
Can such a file be turned back into JSON?
No, the result is plain text without the syntax. Keep the source file if a program will need the data again.
